CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — A Camden resident shot and wounded a man in the street Sunday in Camden, authorities said. Hours later, he shot another man in a Gloucester Township home while the victim was in bed with a woman and her baby, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Kenneth W. Reddick was behind two recent shootings in the county: one that occurred Sunday night in the City of Camden and another early Monday in Gloucester Township, authorities said.

Both victims were hospitalized and reported in stable condition, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday.

Reddick, 29, of Camden, was staying a Gloucester Township woman's home after a falling-out with his girlfriend. He shot the woman's boyfriend — a 34-year-old Gloucester Township resident — on Monday morning, authorities said.

The suspect's relationship to the first shooting victim — a 34-year-old Camden man — is unclear.

Reddick was charged Monday with two counts of first-degree attempted murder and multiple second-degree weapons offenses. He was also charged with third-degree child endangerment, since a 1-year-old was present during the Gloucester Township shooting, authorities said.

Camden Incident

Reddick shot the first victim at 8:34 p.m. Sunday while standing in the roadway at Landsdowne Avenue and Norris Street in Camden, according to court documents.

The victim was driving down Landsdowne Avenue when Reddick fired seven shots at his vehicle, authorities said. Reddick struck the victim twice — once on his left ear and once on his left shoulder — according to prosecutors.

Surveillance footage showed residents standing outside and then running away from Reddick, authorities said.

The victim drove himself to the nearest hospital — Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes, which alerted police of the shooting.

Shooting At Gloucester Twp. Home

That night, Reddick took a taxi from Landsdowne Avenue to Brookshire Road in Sicklerville, where he later shot the second victim, according to court documents.

Reddick had been staying at a woman's home on Brookshire Road after a falling-out with his girlfriend, she told detectives. Her boyfriend took Reddick to a motel Sunday night to retrieve his belongings, and both returned to the home.

At around 5:30 a.m. Monday, Reddick barged into the woman's bedroom while she was laying in bed with her boyfriend and 1-year-old baby. The suspect began yelling an obscenity and shot the boyfriend in his right leg, authorities said.

He tried to fire more rounds, but the gun malfunctioned, authorities said.

The woman ran to her neighbor's house with her baby and her two other children. The neighbor called 911, and police detained Reddick at the scene.

Later that day, detectives spoke to the Gloucester Township victim at Cooper University Hospital, who described his perspective during the shooting.

"(The victim) was in bed laying down," says an affidavit. "He heard (a) boom from the door and heard the suspect. He said I guess 'he' shot me."

Reddick was driven Monday from Gloucester Township police headquarters to Jefferson Hospital for "medical issues," the affidavit says. He was later jailed at the Camden County Correctional Facility, with a pre-trial detention hearing set for Tuesday.

The suspect did not have a listed attorney in online court records on Thursday.
