Minivan Driver Wanted In Fatal South Jersey Hit-And-Run
Police are seeking the driver of a dark-colored Dodge minivan involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Cumberland County on Monday night.
BRIDGETON, NJ — A pedestrian died Monday night after being hit by a minivan driver who did not stop, police in Bridgeton said.
Now, officers are looking for the driver of the dark-colored Dodge minivan, who they describe as a Black man with a beard wearing a white shirt.
Police said the accident happened near the intersection of North Pearl Street and Myrtle Street at 8:40 p.m. Monday. The victim, 34-year-old Leonardo Sanchez-Salas, was crossing the street when the minivan driver hit him.

Bridgeton police said the driver kept going south on North Pearl Street. Two other southbound drivers hit Sanchez-Salas as he lay in the roadway, where police found him. The other drivers stopped to talk to police, according to a news release.
First responders took Sanchez-Salas to Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Witnesses gave police a description of the driver. Officers will look for video footage in the area and continue talking to witnesses, according to a news release.
