Man Killed In South Jersey Shooting, Officials Seek Suspect

First responders found the 33-year-old with gunshot wounds to the chest and transported him to the hospital via helicopter.

CUMBERLAND CO., NJ — Officials seek a suspect after a 33-year-old man was shot several times in the chest Friday night in South Jersey.

Millville Police responded to a shots fired call on Feb. 17 at 10:39 p.m., according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. Officers found Lamont Jones suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest in the area of 4th and E Streets, Webb-McRae said.

First responders transported the Vineland man to Cooper Hospital by helicopter, and medical staff there pronounced deceased, the prosecutor's office said.

Millville Police and the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating.
