Man Sets Fire, Damages Multiple Berlin Twp. Businesses: Cops
Hector W. Herrington, 33, of Philadelphia, faces multiple charges in connection with these incidents, according to police.
BERLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Philadelphia man was arrested on charges stemming from setting multiple fires in one business and damaging five others during a string of burglaries in Berlin Township, the Camden County Prosecutor and Berlin Township Police Chief said.
At about 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, police and fire departments responded to reports of a fire at the Pure Puff Vape Shop located in the 500 block of State Route 73, officials said. At about the same time, reports surfaced that the windows of five other nearby businesses — Tullia’s Italian Restraint, Burger King, B-Tan Tanning Salon, Red, White & Blue Thrift Shop and Imported Car Care Center — were broken by rocks, officials continued.
Reports also surfaced that someone broke into several cars parked at businesses in Berlin Township, tried to steal another car and rammed the stolen car into a business's fenced in a failed attempt to escape, according to officials.

Hector W. Herrington, 33, of Philadelphia, was arrested for these alleged incidents, officials said.
Herrington was charged with one count of second-degree aggravated arson, three counts of third-degree burglary, three counts of third-degree attempted burglary, six counts of third-degree criminal mischief, one count of third-degree theft of a motor vehicle and one count of fourth-degree theft of a credit card, according to officials. He was sent to prison pending a pretrial detention hearing, according to officials.
