A husband desperately flagged down police after his wife was shot while they were inside their car in Camden earlier this month. He was ultimately successful in drawing the attention of local cops, but it was too late to save the woman he loved.

He flagged them down near Broadway and Kaighns Avenue in Camden just before 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson.

Michelle Huelas, 46, of Burlington Township, was transported by EMS to Cooper University Hospital where she was pronounced dead at about 4:20 p.m.
