Man Who Posed As Termite Inspector Sentenced For Groping NJ Woman

Edward Knox of Pennsylvania was convicted in November, nearly four years after the incident that took place at a Somerdale home.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — A Pennsylvania man was sentenced Friday for groping a Somerdale woman after he posed as a termite inspector to enter her home, according to prosecutors.

Edward Knox, 59, of Aston, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to three years of non-custodial probation after a jury found him guilty of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact in November, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

According to prosecutors, Knox was a basement waterproofer who was licensed to work in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware when he posed as a termite inspector to enter the victim’s Somerdale home on Jan. 7, 2019.

Once inside the home, prosecutors said Knox groped the victim’s buttocks and attempted to expose her breast.

Knox was the owner of Hard Knox Waterproofing, based in Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania, at the time of the incident.
