Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With School Bus In South Jersey: Police

No students were on the bus during the collision, authorities said.

CARNEYS POINT, NJ — A motorcyclist died after hitting a school bus earlier this month in Salem County, authorities said.

Joel Morales, 23, collided with the bus at about 2 p.m. Feb. 1 in Carneys Point, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus driver wasn't hurt, and no students were aboard during the crash, authorities said.

Morales was riding north on Route 130 when his motorcycle struck a bus that was pulling out of a parking lot near Washington Avenue, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Morales, of Carneys Point, was a "hardworking young man," according to his obituary. At a young age, he achieved his goal of obtaining his CDL and driving semi-trucks.
