New Book on Historic Baseball Sites by Longtime Gloucester Township Resident
Jason Love, of Gloucester Township, has a new book on historic baseball sites in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
"Baseball Sites Every Fan Should Visit in Philadelphia and New Jersey" is a new book by Gloucester Township resident Jason Love. The book touches upon different historic baseball sites located in Philadelphia and throughout New Jersey. Some of the sites include the Phillies Mural near the Walnut Street Bridge in Philadelphia, the historical marker of where Shibe Park once stood, Mike Trout Field in Millville and all the minor league baseball stadiums in New Jersey.
"I have always enjoyed local history and baseball. I tried to combine the two by featuring sites that are baseball-related but are historic as well," Love says of his book. "Some of the locations are simply fun places to check out such as Shibe Vintage Sports in Philadelphia and the DePace Museum in Collingswood. Both of those spots have some cool baseball items worth checking out. I tried to focus on places that can be visited either for free or relatively inexpensively on a Saturday afternoon."
This book is available as a paperback or Kindle version through Amazon and other local retail bookstores. The paperback version is $4.99 and the Kindle edition is $2.99. Love has taught non-credit classes on baseball's history as an adjunct professor at Camden County College's Blackwood Campus. He currently works for Rutgers University.
