Former NJ Skating Rink Owner's Child Sex Assault Conviction Thrown Out: Report
Jon J. Carlo will go to trial again on child sexual assault charges after an NJ appeals court overturned his sentence, a report said.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — A former roller skating rink owner will go to trial again on child sexual assault charges after an appeals court overturned his sentence, a report said.
In 2019, a jury found Jon J. Carlo guilty of showing pornographic material to a child at Franklin Skating Center, which he owned; sexually assaulting a child under 13; and making a sexually explicit video of a child, the NJ.com report said.
An appeals panel found that the judge in Carlo's case "incorrectly allowed the investigating detective to offer opinion testimony, rather than first-hand testimony during the trial," the report said.
