One-Day Boating Safety Class at Camden County College on March 28

Topics include boating laws, safety equipment, navigation, common problems, vessel storage/protection and specialty uses such as hunting.

Local boaters will have the opportunity to complete New Jersey State Police Boating Certification by taking a one-day Camden County College class that costs just $99 and has the potential to reduce the cost of their boat insurance.

“Safe Boating” will be offered from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 28 on the College’s Blackwood Campus, which is located at College Drive and Peter Cheeseman Road in Gloucester Township. Plentiful free, off-road parking is available.

CCC’s eight-hour class consists of seven lessons and a 60-question multiple-choice test. Students who pass the test receive a temporary certificate before they leave the classroom that day and a final certificate in the mail shortly thereafter. Many insurance companies will offer discounts on boating policies to those who earn this credential.
