PA Man Killed In Head-On Crash In Gloucester County: Police

A 38-year-old Pennsylvania man was driving west on Stephen M. Sweeney Way last week when he collided head-on with a truck, police said.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, NJ — A Pennsylvania man died last week following a head-on collision involving two vehicles in Gloucester County, according to police.

Monir Lancaster, 38, of Chester, Pennsylvania, was driving a Buick SUV west on Stephen M. Sweeney Way in Harrison Township around 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 when his vehicle veered into the eastbound lane for an unknown reason, according to township police.

Lancaster's vehicle then struck a Chevy Silverado driven by a Glassboro resident, police said.

Lancaster was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The second driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The crash shut down Stephen M. Sweeney between North Main Street and Mullica Hill Road for approximately 4 hours, police said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
