Pair Illegally Harbored Missing Teen In Camden County, Misled Police: Authorities

Both face charges after taking in the 16-year-old who ran away from home, officials said.

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two South Jersey residents face charges after harboring a teen runaway and then misleading police, officials said.

A 16-year-old was reported missing as a runaway Friday night out of Monroe Township. During the investigation, police learned that an adult picked them up near their home and brought them to Camden, authorities said.

Throughout the weekend, patrol officers tried following up on possible locations for the child "but received misinformation and interference from adults that were harboring the juvenile," said the Monroe Township Police Department.
