Law enforcement initially received reports of an active shooter at Inspira Medical Center Vineland. But it turned out to be an isolated incident, according to the city police department.
Inspira was locked down because of its security measures, but the lockdown was lifted amid police activity at the scene. The incident no longer presents a danger to patients, staff or visitors at the facility, police said late Saturday morning.

Police didn't disclose the nature of the incident or the patient's condition. But an Inspira Health spokesperson told news outlets that a patient shot themselves at about 8:40 a.m. Saturday.
"A patient sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound while under our care," Kathy Scullin-Marinelli, Inspira Health's senior vice president of communications, told NJ Advance Media. "This was an isolated incident; the firearm was immediately secured by security and no others were physically harmed. Everyone is safe."
The patient hasn't been publicly identified as of Sunday afternoon.
It's uncertain how the gun was brought into the hospital. New Jersey prohibits firearms in health care facilities.
Police continue to investigate the incident and have contacted the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
