Pedestrian Fatally Struck In South Jersey Crash: Police
The driver told police that the woman suddenly appeared in the roadway and he couldn't avoid her.
MILLVILLE, NJ — A vehicle fatally struck a woman down the street from her home Friday morning in Millville, police said.
Police reported to the crash scene at 6:49 a.m. Friday on the 1100 block of East Broad Street. The pedestrian — Tynicha Blake, 26 — was later pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.
Blake lived down the roadway, according to police.

An uninvolved witness told police that a pedestrian was walking in the eastbound lane before a vehicle hit her. Blake's family members identified her as the pedestrian, police said.
Authorities performed lifesaving procedures on Blake at the scene. Millville EMS then took her to Inspira Medical Center Vineland, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle — a 2006 Honda Accord — told police he was heading to work when Blake suddenly appeared in front of his vehicle and he couldn't avoid hitting her.
He was issued a summons for unlicensed driving. Police have not disclosed the driver's name.
