Petition Calls On Mom To Be Charged With Murder In 2-Year-Old's Sexual Assault And Death

Amber Bobo has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the death of her 2-year-old baby last month.

An online petition is calling on the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office to charge the mother of a Gloucester City 2-year-old who was sexually assaulted and murdered by the woman’s boyfriend in her death.

Amber Bobo, 26, of Gloucester City, was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child in the death of her daughter, Ariana, last month.

Her boyfriend, 22-year-old Michael Disporto Jr., of Manahwakin, was charged with murder and first-degree aggravated sexual assault.

Police allege that Bobo and Disporto, her boyfriend of two weeks at that point, picked up the girl from her father’s house in Cape May County at about 6 p.m. on July 2.

At some point that night, while Disporto and the child were alone together, Disporto is accused of sexually assaulting the girl.

Bobo discovered bruises that Disporto said resulted from the girl falling at the park. She decided not to take her to the hospital.

They took her to the mall later in the day, and despite the child vomiting three times, Disporto continued to convince Bobo not to take her to the hospital.

She finally called 911 when the child became unresponsive that evening. The baby died in the hospital the following day.

“As you can clearly see, Amber Bobo cared more for her boyfriend than her own child,” Mesmer writes in the petition. “She allowed Ariana to suffer for nearly 12 hours with obvious signs of having a head injury from being beaten and bruised genitals consistent with rape!

“We need Justice for Ariana!”

Mesmer, of Barnegat, has no connection to the family, but launched the petition with the blessing of the child’s grandfather earlier this week, according to nj.com.

Disporto and Bobo were charged on July 8, and have been incarcerated in Camden County Jail on $1.5 million bail and $100,000 bail, respectively, since.
