Police-Involved Shooting Under Investigation In South Jersey: Prosecutor
Police say they shot the armed man as he was approaching a woman inside a home on Wednesday.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating an incident in which a police officer shot an armed man in Camden on Wednesday.
Preliminary findings indicated Camden County Police officers arrived at a home on the 2700 block of Federal Street at about 11:31 a.m. in response to a 911 call for domestic violence and a man armed with a gun, and encountered an armed suspect.
The officers shot 38-year-old Antonio Fernandez Ventura, address unknown, as he was approaching a woman inside the home, the prosecutor's office said on Wednesday. He was taken to Cooper University Hospital.

The woman was injured and was also taken to Cooper University Hospital, according to the prosecutor's office.
The officer, who was not injured, was placed on administrative leave pending the ongoing investigation. The prosecutor’s office didn’t identify the officer Wednesday afternoon.
