Post-Surgery Fan Feared She Missed Super Bowl; Now She's Going

Haley Parks of Williamstown had her wisdom teeth removed on Jan. 20. When she came out of anesthesia, the Eagles fan feared the worst.

WILLIAMSTOWN, NJ — A post-surgery video of a Rutgers University student saying she thought she'd missed the Super Bowl has now propelled her to the NFL's championship game.

Haley Parks of Williamstown had her wisdom teeth removed on Jan. 20 — about a week and a half before the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots were to play for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, according to a GoFundMe post created to help send Haley to Minneapolis for the game.

"While coming out of anesthesia, Haley thought she missed our EAGLES in the Super Bowl," the post said. "Her mom started [taping] and the rest in history! The videos went viral thanks to the help of all of her family and friends who fell in love video which shows how funny Haley is (with and without anesthesia)!"

"Did I miss the Super Bowl? Oh my God!" she asks, eyes widening. When her mom replies she didn't miss the Eagles game, Parks asks "Are you sure? I want the Eagles to win so bad."

Shortly thereafter, Parks asks if she can go to the championship game on Sunday, which is being held in Minneapolis.

“No we don't have money for the ticket but I'm sure they'll know you're rooting for them,” her mother answers.

The video was seen more than 4 million times and shared on Facebook more than 43,000 times. And apparently, someone from the Eagles was one of them.

A representative for the team contacted Parks on Friday and told her she had two tickets waiting for her in Minnesota, the post said. The catch: she'd have to cover travel and lodging.

“I AM OFFICIALLY GOING TO THE SUPERBOWLLLLLL,” Parks posted on Facebook that night.

And Eagles fans have stepped up to help. By Sunday afternoon, the account had raised nearly $3,000.
