President Barack Obama to Visit Camden County Police Tactical Center During Trip to South Jersey
The president will be in Camden on Monday.

President Barack Obama will visit the Real-Time Tactical Operational Intelligence Center at the Camden County Police Department headquarters and deliver remarks at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center when he visits Camden next week, the White House said on Friday.
The president will meet with with local law enforcement young people in the community when he visits Camden on Monday. He will hear directly about the efforts of the Camden County Police Department to build trust between their department and the community they serve.
The Camden County Police Department has been using the Real-Time Tactical Operational Intelligence Center since it took over policing the City from the Camden Police Department in 2013. The center allows the police department to patrol the City via 120 cameras set up throughout Camden. Officers make use of the cameras via booths that raise 40-feet in the air.

Last month, Camden was named a “Promise Zone.”
This gives Camden an advantage when it comes to federal grants to increase economic opportunity, reduce crime and improve public health, among other priorities identified by the community, White House officials said.

Promise Zones are high poverty communities in which the federal government and local leaders unite for improvement, including the reduction of violent crime, increasing economic activity and improving educational opportunities, among other goals.
Obama will discuss how these kinds of partnerships and community investments are a crucial part of creating ladders of opportunity for all Americans, officials said.
