Relay for Life Gloucester Township Raises Nearly $45,000 for American Cancer Society
The event was this weekend at Veterans Park.
Gloucester Township, NJ -- Relay for Life Gloucester Township raised $44,835.40 for the American Cancer Society with its event at Veterans Park this weekend.
“You helped to make our event memorable, fun, and awe-inspiring,” organizers wrote on the event page. “Thank you for your support on the track! While we've taken the final lap for 2016, we can still do so much to grow the Relay For Life movement. Please continue the conversation with those closest to you, and help us to Finish The Fight against cancer!”
Relay for Life is an overnight community experience where teams of friends, family and neighbors walk a track to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to this disease and join together to fight back.

It began on Saturday morning, 8 a.m., and ran until Sunday morning, 8 a.m.
The top participants were John DeClemente, who raised $9,050.30; Taylor Cole, who raised $2,341; and Barbara Hanson, who raised $2,158.55.

Angelos Rose was the top team, with $11,730.30, followed by Mary’s Marchers with $5,054.92 and Gloucester Township Democrats with $4,245.
The police department also participated in the event.
“Officers got to meet some great people and were able to test out their skills in various competitions,” police said. “Thank you for everyone that supported the event.”
