Scammers Seeking 'Donations' For Fallen PA State Troopers: Reports

The PA State Troopers Association said scammers are looking to take advantage of troopers Martin Mack III and Branden Sisca's deaths.

PHILADELPHIA — The Pennsylvania State Police trooper union has issued a warning about scammers looking to capitalize on the deaths of troopers Martin Mack III and Branden Sisca.

According to the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association, scammers are making phone calls to union members and others claiming to represent groups raising money in the fallen troopers' names, Action News reports.

Mack and Sisca, as well as an unidentified pedestrian, were struck and killed by a woman who authorities believe was driving under the influence on Interstate 95 south in Philadelphia early Monday.

Association President David Kennedy called having to issue the warning disgusting.

"The public should not make donations or provide personal information to these callers," Kennedy said, according to Fox 29. "The PSTA is the only official organization that represents and serves Pennsylvania state troopers, and we do not use telephone solicitation for fundraising."
