A South Jersey man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after one of the victim’s friends acted on a suspicious Snapchat post she saw, authorities said on Thursday.
Mason Mallon, 24, of Gibbsboro, was arrested on Aug. 19 after a friend of the 18-year-old victim became concerned for her safety after seeing a Snapchat post from Mallon. The victim appeared to be unconscious, according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gibbsboro Police Chief Justin Tomaszewski.
The friend called Gibbsboro police and asked them to go to Mallon’s home on the 100 block of West Clementon Road to check on the victim. Upon arrival, police say they found the victim in Mallon’s bedroom, “disoriented, bruised and covered in blood.” She was taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment.
