South Jersey Teacher Indicted, Charged With Sexually Assaulting Student Student

A New Jersey high school teacher has been indicted for allegedly having inappropriate relations with a student, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Pine Hill Police Chief Chris Winters announced on Wednesday.

Daniel S. Poussart, 29, of Pine Hill, was indicted Nov. 19 by a grand jury on one count of official misconduct, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, five counts of sexual assault and six counts of criminal sexual contact.

Poussart, a drama teacher at Overbrook High School in Pine Hill, was charged on Jan. 2 of allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a female student from November through December of 2013 while in a supervisory teaching relationship to the victim.

The Pine Hill School District offered full assistance to law enforcement in the investigation of this matter.

School officials reported Poussart will be placed on unpaid leave retroactive to the date of his indictment. He had previously been suspended with pay.
