Super Bowl Winning QB To Attend Dog Trials Opening Ceremonies In Gloucester Township

Ben Roethlisberger will attend the dog trials on Saturday before the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Before heading to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles this Sunday, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will visit Gloucester Township.

The two-time Super Bowl winning signal caller will visit with the K9 teams during the welcoming ceremony of the United States Police Canine Association National Patrol Dog Trials on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Gloucester Township Police Department is hosting the 2016 trials from Sept. 25-30.

“He is a known supporter of law enforcement, especially K-9 Units and service dogs, with The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation that seeks to assist police and fire departments throughout the United States,” police said in a statement on Thursday.

He also works with the Make a Wish Foundation, according to the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation website.

Roethlisberger, who guided Pittsburgh to Super Bowl wins following the 2005 and 2008 seasons, as well as an appearance in Super Bowl 45 after the 2010 season, has also worked with multiple human service charities.

His resume includes work the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, Ronald McDonald House, Special Olympics, Alliance Against Highly Addictive Drugs, American Library Association and numerous other human service charities

The Steelers play the Eagles on Sunday afternoon, 4:25 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field.
