Suspected 'Serial Shoplifters' Nabbed By Gloucester Township Police

One of the suspects was also a fugitive from Pennsylvania, according to police.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP — A pair of "serial shoplifters" was recently arrested in Gloucester Township, that municipality's police department said.

Berron West, 52, of Gibbsboro, was charged with third-degree shoplifting and fourth-degree obstruction, according to police. West, who was also wanted by authorities in Delaware County, was sent to Camden County Jail, police said.

In addition, Ashley Winters, 31, also of Gibbsboro, was charged with third-degree eluding and shoplifting, according to police. It was unclear if she was in jail.

On March 25, employees at the Target on Berlin-Cross Keys Road in Sicklerville called Gloucester Township police and said two people who had stolen items from several stores in the Camden, Gloucester and Burlington County areas were "actively shoplifting" at their store, according to police.

As police responded, West dropped what he was holding and ran towards a car in the parking lot, authorities said. He got out of the car and ran, but was caught a short time later by police, authorities continued.

Winters, who was driving the car, left the parking lot but was later apprehended, police said.
