Teen Fatally Shot In Camden, Investigation Underway: Prosecutor
The incident marks the city's 2nd-reported deadly shooting in less than a week.
CAMDEN, NJ — A teen was killed Wednesday afternoon in Camden, marking the city's second-reported fatal shooting in less than a week, authorities said.
The victim was Jesus Manuel Ortiz-Hernandez, an 18-year-old city resident, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO).
At about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, a ShotSpotter activation brought police to the 2700 block of Hayes Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Ortiz-Hernandez suffering from an apparent gunshot wound at 22nd Street and River Road, the CCPO said.

Officials took Ortiz-Hernandez to Cooper University Hospital. At about 7:15 p.m., he was pronounced dead.

The incident came days after another fatal shooting Sunday afternoon in Camden. Officials identified the victim as Jose Rivera, a 47-year-old Camden resident.
