Threat Reported To Camden County Middle School Deemed Not Credible

Police have increased their presence in schools throughout the district.

PINE HILL, NJ — A threat reported Wednesday to a Camden County school was found not to be credible.

Reported at the end of the school day, the threat involved a series of vague posts on social media, prompting concerns at Pine Hill Middle School. Following a full investigation, authorities found that it would be safe for students and staff to attend school the following day.

Nonetheless, police have increased their presence in Pine Hill schools.

Students will participate in an assembly Thursday about responsible use of social media, the seriousness of threatening and suspicious posts, and the importance of reporting anything concerning, according to a letter from the district superintendent and borough police chief to parents of Pine Hill Middle School students.

Officials stressed the need to continue reporting any suspicious or threatening behavior, comments and social media posts through the district's existing means or to 911.
