Timber Creek Football Team Remains Unbeaten With Win Over Delsea

Triton suffered its first loss, and Highland dropped to 0-3, according to nj.com.

The Timber Creek Regional High School football team  moved to 3-0 with an 18-15 win over Delsea on Friday night, according to a box score posted on nj.com.

Khalil Trotman threw for 218 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Alan Butler caught both touchdown passes, including a 3-yarder in the second quarter and an 18-yarder in the third.

Walter Lewis opened up the scoring for Timber Creek, with a 16-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

The winning score came on a pass from Winslow’s Deshaun Brown to Jamir Holmes. Holmes ran in the two-point conversion for the 28-23 final. It was Holmes’ second touchdown and second two-point conversion of the day.

Triton fell to 2-1 on the season.

Triton got on the board first in the first quarter with a 32-yard pass from Jake McGlinchey to Brandon Pagan.

Winslow responded with Holmes’ touchdown run and two-point conversion, and led, 8-7, at halftime. Winslow scored twice more in the third quarter, but failed to convert on either of its two-point attempts.

Triton’s Kevin Bucceroni scored on a 6-yard run, and converted the two-point conversion on a Dominic Staiano run.

Winslow led, 20-15, at the end of three.

Staiano put Triton ahead in the fourth quarter with a 3-yard run and two point conversion for a 23-20 lead, before Winslow’s heroics.

Highland took Bishop Eustace into overtime, but ultimately fell, 27-20, to drop to 0-3.

Vinny Papale, son of former Philadelphia Eagles and subject of the movie “Invincible” Vince Papale, scored three touchdowns, including an overtime 25-yard run for the win. He also had an 8-yard touchdown reception to put Bishop Eustace up, 10-0, in the second quarter.

The Tartans seized control of the game with three consecutive touchdowns to bridge the second and third quarters.

Scores came from Derin Sweeney (10-yard run), Robert Chandler (45-yard fumble return) and Orlando Council (4-yard run).

Papale’s second touchdown reception came in the fourth quarter. A Crusaders field goal then sent the game into overtime.
