In order to successfully develop and finance a routine schedule tailored for a professional athlete, Blair has created the gofundme account “Montez’ Olympic Fund.”

On the page, Montez says he remains “vehemently committed to his own personal athletic development.”

As part of his commitment, he looks for the best opportunities to face the best competition. That’s why he chose to train with a group in Tuscan, Arizona. He feels participation in that group will bring him high visibility and the best opportunities for competition throughout the United States, Canada, Central America, Europe, Asia, and many other places across the globe,” according to his high school coach Shawn McHugh.

He will also have the opportunity to train alongside 2012 Olympic Silver Medalist, Brigetta Barrett, and Olympic qualifier, Nick Ross under the supervision of Matthew McGee.

He was also accepted to the prestigious Olympic Training Facility in Chula Vista, California, an organization responsible for training the top US athletes in the world, but decided not to join that group in favor of his Arizona training group.

As of Monday morning, 33 people had donated to the fund, raising a total of $1,415 in one month. His goal is $17,700.
