Timber Creek High School Football Team Claims Turkey Day Win Over Triton

Timber Creek can now look forward to the South Jersey Group IV final.

The Timber Creek High School football team wasn’t looking ahead to next week.

Devin Leary, Sage Brown and Walter Lewis each scored two touchdowns in Timber Creek’s 65-14 win over Triton on Thanksgiving Day, according to nj.com.

Leary scored on a 1 -yard touchdown run and threw a 5-yard scoring pass to Lewis. Lewis also scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.

Brown caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Jake Kolbe, and ran another one in from 18 yards out.

Dante Witcher returned a kickoff 70 yards for a score. Shane Pease ran 45 yards for another score, and Blaine Shade had a 15-yard touchdown run.

Tyler Coluccio kicked a 35-yard field goal.

Dominic Staiano scored on a run of 50 yards, and Ryan McNamee punched one in from 1 yard out for Triton.

Timber Creek improved to 8-3 and can now focus on its NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV championship game against Shawnee on Sunday night, Dec. 6, 6 p.m., at Rowan University.

Shawnee advanced to the final with a 28-14 winover No. 3 Bridgeton.

Shawnee defeated No. 7 Winslow, 29-20, in the quarterfinals.

Shawnee is 9-2 following its Thanksgiving Day win over Lenape.

Triton was 1-9 this season, with its lone win coming over Highland on Oct. 2.
