Triton Football Downs Highland, 2-0; Timber Creek Falls in Triple Overtime
Triton honored a former player who died in a car accident over the summer before winning their first game of the season.

Dan Hurff’s safety in the second quarter proved to be the difference as the Triton High School football team defeated Highland, 2-0, on Friday night, according to nj.com.
Highland’s Orlando Council had 104 yards rushing in a game defined by defense.
Dominic Staiano led Triton with 142 yards on a night in which the Mustangs honored Brian Keller, a former Triton quarterback who died in a car accident over the summer.

The victory was Triton’s first of the year, as the Mustangs improved to 1-3. Highland fell to 2-2.
Devon Leary’s touchdown pass to Noah Ellison gave the Timber Creek High School football team new life, but it wasn’t able to take advantage of the opportunity in a 28-22 triple overtime loss to Washington Township Friday night, according to nj.com.

Matteo Murgia returned an interception 72 yards for the game-winning touchdown for the Minutemen.
Washington Township jumped out to a 17-0 lead, but Leary was able to mount a comeback for his team. He had an 8-yard touchdown pass to Cam Chambers and a 3-yard touchdown run of his own.
Each team kicked a field goal in overtime, including a 24-yarder from Tyler Coluccio to give Timber Creek a brief lead. Washington Township answered Timber Creek’s field goal, setting up Murgia’s game-winning touchdown.
Timber Creek fell to 2-2. Washington Township is also 2-2.
