Timber Creek High School Football Team to Meet Shawnee for South Jersey Title

Timber Creek made it to the championship game by upsetting No. 1 Hammonton Friday night.

The Timber Creek Regional High School football team will play for a South Jersey title in two weeks.

Harold Coleman scored the game-winning touchdown with four minutes, 16 seconds left, and fourth-seeded Timber Creek upset No. 1 seed Hammonton, 30-24, in the semifinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV playoffs on Friday night, according to nj.com.

The Timber Creek defense then held Hammonton at the 11-yard line in the final seconds to secure the win.

Timber Creek will visit No. 2 seed Shawnee, a 28-14 semifinal winner over No. 3 Bridgeton, in the championship game on Dec. 4.

The game-winner was the second touchdown of the night for Coleman, who also had a 5-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.

Devin Leary threw two touchdown passes in the win.

He connected with Cameron Chambers on a 29-yard scoring pass in the second quarter.

In the third, it was a 4-yard toss to Ezrah Archie for a score.

Tyler Coluccio kicked a 26-yard field goal in the win.

Timber Creek opened the playoffs with a 10-3 win over No. 5 Mainland last week.

Shawnee defeated No. 7 Winslow, 29-20, in the quarterfinals.

Before the South Jersey title game, each team must get past their Thanksgiving Day rival.

Timber Creek hosts Triton on Thursday morning, 10 a.m.

Shawnee visits Lenape at the same time.
