Timber Creek Wrestler Earns Top Seed For Girls Tournament

The inaugural girls regional wrestling championships are set for this weekend in Red Bank.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - One of the top seeds in the inaugural New Jersey high school girls individual wrestling tournament is from Timber Creek Regional High School.

Tiyanna Hooker is the No. 1 seed at 185 pounds in the South Jersey regional tournament, which is set for Sunday, Feb. 17, at Red Bank Regional High School, according to nj.com. There are 11 girls competing in the weight class, with the top three finishers advancing to the state tournament in Atlantic City in two weeks. The North Jersey regional tournament is also set for Sunday in Red Bank.

Hooker already captured a title earlier this year, when she won the 185-pound title at the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame tournament in January.
