A survey team from the National Weather Service in Mount Holly has preliminarily determined the damage sustained in Mullica Hill was caused by a tornado with wind speeds of high intensity.

The team determined damage further to the northeast, in the area just south of Deptford, was caused by tornadic winds of high intensity. It is likely that this damage was caused by the same tornado but with a discontinuous path.
