GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Camden County is known as a Democratic stronghold, so one Gloucester Township resident who participated in a parade in favor of President Donald Trump over the weekend was surprised by what he saw.

“I was surprised by the number of people who were outside waiting for us and taking pictures,” Tom Kelly said. “I would say 80 percent to 90 percent of the reaction we got was positive. I was really surprised to see that in Camden County.”

The parade took place on Saturday. It began at the Gloucester Premium Outlets and marched down the Black Horse Pike to Browning Road. Along the way, they marched through Bellmawr, Brooklyn and Woodbury. Ultimately, they ended up at RiverWinds in West Deptford, where they met up with a pro-Trump boat parade. There were no reports of violence related to this parade in any of those towns.

“We had about 125 cars in the parade,” Kelly said. “There was a lot of waving. I thought there’d be more negativity. Everyone was mostly positive. There were a few people who said something, but there was no violence, no BS.”

Kelly said he maintains a positive attitude when talking about the president. He doesn’t want to get into fights with people who are anti-Trump; he wants to win them over.

His neighbor doesn’t have a Trump sign out; his sign supports Trump’s Democratic opponent in the Nov. 3 election, Joe Biden. It hasn’t been an issue, Kelly said.

“I think people are less afraid to put their Trump signs out this time around,” Kelly said. “I put my signs out and a couple of days later, my neighbor put his Trump flag out. Once people see others aren’t afraid, you’ll see more Trump people.”

Kelly provided images from the parade to Patch, which can be seen below and are attached to this post.
