Vehicle Located In Fatal Hit-And-Run: Gloucester Township Police

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police found the vehicle they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a Gloucester Township woman, but have not said if anyone was arrested in connection with the crash.

Township officers are investigating the death of Elaine J. Hubler, last known to live in the Hilltop section of Blackwood. Police say Hubler, 58, was found laying in the roadway on Black Horse Pike Monday night after being hit by a car.

Police said they identified the vehicle they believe hit Hubler on Tuesday. Officers are analyzing information and will give updates when the investigation is finished, according to a social media post.

"The Gloucester Township Police would like to thank the public for reaching out with information regarding the crash," police said.

Passing drivers stopped to stay with Hubler until first responders arrived. She had life-threatening injuries and died at Jefferson Washington Township, police said.

Police say a dark-colored vehicle driving in the northbound lane hit Hubler, and did not stop. Black Horse Pike was closed for about three hours while police investigated.
