3 Injured in Mountain Avenue Crash, Cops Say

Two vehicles involved in wreck Monday night.

Three people were taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center Monday night after a two-car crash resulted in multiple injuries on Mountain Avenue/Rt. 182, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

Gabrielle Callie, 25 of Belleville, was heading north on Rt. 182 when she struck Matthew Dehaas, 26, of Andover, in front of the LukOil Gas Station, Tynan said.

An investigation showed Dehaas, who was traveling south on Rt. 182, attempted turning left across the two northbound lanes of traffic, Tynan said.

A third vehicle, which was not part of the crash, was in the left turn lane on Rt. 182 northbound, also attempting to turn left, Tynan said. Callie struck Dehaas when he turned in front of that vehicle, Tynan said.

Callie complained of back injuries, and Dehaas complained of an abdomen injury, Tynan said. Callie's passenger, Joelle Byrne, 24, of Washington Township complained a facial injury, Tynan said. All three were transported to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center.
