Allamuchy Fire Department Seeking Volunteers

Membership open to males and females 18 and older.

The Allamuch Township Fire Department, covering all of the township and a portion of Interstate 80 for more than 25 years, is seeking volunteers to join its squad.

The department's response area covers 20 square miles, 4,000 residents, and 6,965 acres of Allamuchy Mountain State Park. The department was established in 1983.

"Becoming a volunteer firefighter is an opportunity for those who want to make a difference in their community," the department said in a press release. "It provides a valuable experience for a career in emergency services, it looks great on college applications and resumes, it gives you a reason to get out of the house to help yourself and others, and it provides those interested with a new hobby to love and enjoy."
