Allamuchy General Store Hiring Ahead Of Reopening

The store has been closed since January after a tractor-trailer crashed through the front.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ— The historic Allamuchy General Store Cafe is close to reopening following a renovation, and they're hiring new employees. The store has been closed since early January when a tractor trailer crashed through the store-front.

The newly renovates store will have a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining room created by an award winning designer, the store said in a Facebook post. An official re-opening date has not been announced, but is expected to be some time this spring.

  • Food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation skills
  • Must be fastidious about kitchen maintenance and cleaning
  • Menu planning abilities
  • Can stay focused under pressure-expect to be in the weeds and work your way out of it
  • You can handle anything thrown your way with a smile
  • You never complain, especially about things you cannot control-like customer requests, the hours the restaurant is open, how busy or slow it is, or if someone orders breakfast for lunch.

No one was injured in the accident, which nearly destroyed the dining room. The Allamuchy General Store Cafe was first established in 1827.
