Child Abuse Porn Gets Man 4 Years in Prison

Great Meadows resident pleaded guilty in November 2012, originally arrested in May 2009.

A Great Meadows man was sentenced to four years in prison for having digital images of children being sexually abused, according to U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman.

Leonard Ramirez, 41, pleaded guilty in November 2012 to possessing child pornography on his home computer and an external hard drive. The evidence also included violent video images, Fishman said.

Ramirez was sentenced Friday, March 21, to 48 months in prison for the crime. He was originally arrested by Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and New Jersey State Police in May 2009.

On top of the four-year prison term, Ramirez was sentenced to five years of supervised release with restricted contact with minors and computer-use monitoring, Fishman said. Ramirez also is required to register as a sex offender.
