Cub Scout Pack 222 to Conduct Food Drive for Local Food Pantry Serving nearly 500 People

Come visit Cub Scouts on Saturday, November 8th

at Washington Shoprite from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Scouting for Food is a National event of the Boy Scouts of America and the largest service project of our local Cub Scout Pack of Mansfield Township.

The Cub Scouts will be collecting food donations prior to the Scouting for Food event on Saturday, November 8th and hosting the food drive at Shoprite to ask patrons to donate goods on location. The Cub Scouts will be outside collecting donations

The donated items will be delivered to the First Presbyterian Church’s on Sunday, November 9th to benefit the Community Food Pantry of Washington. Come out and support your friends and neighbors who rely on the Community Food Pantry or drop off or make a monetary donation at 40 East Church Street, Washington, New Jersey 07882. Call the food pantry at 908-689-2547.

“Currently the pantry handles an average of 460+ people a month that is an increase over last year. Due to this increase of new and old clients depending on the pantry for food and other items we are experiencing a shortage of food” states Leslie Schott of the Community Food Pantry of Washington.

“The need has been so great and unfortunately we are not able to get all the items needed to stock the pantry.”
