Hackettstown Woman Laying On Road Run Over: Police
Police aren't sure yet why the woman was laying on the road.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A woman is in critical condition after being run over while laying in the road, Hackettstown Police said.
A teenager was driving on Route 517 near Cook Street Saturday night when the car in front of her swerved suddenly to avoid something. The driver then saw the woman lying down in the road, but was unable to stop in time, police said.
It's not clear why Bernarda Cruz-Leiva, 51, of Hackettstown, was laying down in the road, police said. She was taken to Morristown Medical Center and is still in critical condition Monday morning, police said.

The crash is under investigation; anyone with information is asked to contact the Hackettstown Police Department’s Detective Bureau at 908-852- 3302.
Hackettstown Rescue Squad, Hackettstown Fire Department, St Clare’s Medic Unit, and the Mansfield Twp Police assisted at the scene.
