Internet / Social Media and Your Customers

We've discovered here at the BID Office some information about how the people of Hackettstown use the Internet and Facebook.

Here are some tips/info:

Facebook and Twitter connections like to hear about the exclusive information they can get only from you! When posts or photo's are meaningful to the business posting it, they are more likely to get 'liked' and 'shared'.

Make sure your content is about your business in particular not your industry in general. We've seen that one post a day works well, but if you like to do two, be sure to space them out - one in the morning, one in the late afternoon.

Here at the BID Office we will 'share' one post a day from your business as long as it is unique to your operation and tells our mutual customers information they need about your business.

When you have a special event, make sure to create an even on your Facebook page, and be sure to invite US so that we can help spread the word! Even though an event is created, it has more impact when you actually 'invite' or 'share' with your customers, friends and family members. Also be sure to post the event on The Hackettstown Patch and the Hackettstown Life calendar, they are used be a large number of our community.

Facebook insights are a valuable tool that will tell you quite a bit about how effective your posts are and how they are being received by your customers.

Facebook operates on the premise that posts that receive 'likes' and 'shares' deserve the most exposure, and in general those tend to be information special to you, make them meaningful, helpful and fun!

If you need help setting up and working with your Facebook page, please let us know we'll be happy to help get you started!
