Join Us for a New Hackettstown Bucket Brigade Gathering!
Join the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center at this Year's Spring Festival to Learn More

Do you remember the groundbreaking fundraising effort of the Hackettstown “Bucket Brigade” which funded the construction of Hackettstown Community Hospital?
For three summers in the late 1960’s, friends and neighbors - young and old - volunteered their time to collect spare change at the five corners intersection in Hackettstown. Route 80 did not yet reach Hackettstown, so Route 46 was the main thoroughfare to Pennsylvania, and that meant lots of vehicles driving through Hackettstown. Time, dedication and effort payed off as $101,000 was raised for construction of the hospital which later opened in 1973.
Please join us for a new Bucket Brigade gathering!
If you were part of the original Bucket Brigade, or would like to learn more about it, join the Foundation for Hackettstown Medical Center and friends on Saturday, May 4th from 3:30 – 5pm at Atlantic Health System's Hackettstown Medical Center’s tent at this year’s Spring Festival! We’ll have some light snacks, share Bucket Brigade stories and hospital photos from then and now, and see what exciting things are yet to come! All are welcome!
