“I believe that young people in New Jersey lack representation and I want to be their voice,” said Hadzovic.
“Enacting school funding reform that works for everyone is one of my priorities. We must also ensure that we create an environment that is friendly to small businesses that drive the local economy.”

In addition to electing a new governor to succeed unpopular Chris Christie, NJ will also vote on hundreds of candidates to elect 120 members to the State’s Legislature.
The State Legislature is made up of 40 State Senators (one from each Legislative District) and two Assembly members (two from each Legislative District).
“2017 will be one of the most important elections in recent history,” said Isaac Hadzovic, a first-time candidate for New Jersey Legislature from District 23.
“It’s the year we decide whether New Jersey will lead the nation by standing up for our values or we risk repeating the mistakes of the past,” said Hadzovic.
Hadzovic and his running mate, Laura Shaw, are both first-time candidates for elected office. Opposing them are incumbents Erik Peterson and John DiMaio. Peterson and DiMaio have served in the Legislature since 2009, the same year that Christie was first elected Governor.
Since then, NJ has had its credit rating downgraded 11 times, the most during any governor’s administration in U.S. history. The torrent of downgrades has given New Jersey a reputation as one of the worst-managed states. Only Illinois has a lower credit rating.
Hadzovic and Shaw are both first-time candidates for elected office, but have already raised over $70,000 to make 2017 the most competitive election since at least 2005 when a field of eight candidates raised $456,000.
A Democrat hasn’t represented Legislative District 23 in Trenton since Rosemarie Totaro was elected in 1978.
