A Mansfield man searching for his brother in Hackettstown assaulted a Piscataway resident and was arrested, Hackettstown Police Det. Darren Tynan said.

Police responded to a report of an assault on East Prospect Street early Monday morning and found Anthony Fulton, Jr., 23, had been searching for his brother, Tynan said.

An investigation revealed Fulton found his brother in a vehicle on East Prospect Street, which was being driven by a 20-year-old Piscataway man, Tynan said. Fulton then pulled the driver — whose name is not being released — out of the car and struck him in the head and face, Tynan said.
