NJ State Assembly to Vote if Illegal Aliens Get Drivers Licences
Senate President Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin purposely delayed votes on this legislation until after the November election.

During the week of December 9th committees in the State Assembly and State Senate will vote on legislation (S-3229 and A-4743) that gives driver's licenses to illegal aliens. Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin delayed votes on the legislation until after the November election because they knew Democratic members would be vulnerable if they supported licenses for illegal aliens. These leaders apparently feel comfortable in moving the legislation now that the election is over.
The legislation will make New Jersey a magnet for MORE illegal aliens across the nation who want licenses. It is not difficult to buy fake documentation that "shows" a person resides in New Jersey. And documents like the Mexican Matricula Consular do not guarantee the bearer is who he or she says. That's because the feeder documents required to obtain one are not vetted for authenticity by Mexican consulates.
Adding more illegal-alien drivers to the roads - many without experience - will not improve safety. Nor will it guarantee that illegal aliens retain insurance after initial purchase. New Mexico, which has long given licenses to illegals, has the second highest percentage of uninsured drivers in the nation.
