None Injured, Hackettstown House Fire Remains Under Investigation
Residents inside the home on Miller St. were able to escape from injury from the fire, for which local marshals continue to seek a cause.

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ – A fire that caused heavy damage to a Hackettstown home and forced residents to escape without harm Thursday afternoon remains under investigation, local officials said Friday.
Hackettstown Fire and Rescue squads responded to the scene at 102 Miller St. just after 2 p.m., and observed black smoke and fire beginning to consume the back corner of the home as well as the roof. According to a Hackettstown Police department spokesman, a few residents were home at the time of the fire but were able to flee the residence without being injured.
A neighboring home on High St. sustained heat damage from the fire, officials said, but no injuries were reported and the home on Miller St. was deemed uninhabitable by local fire marshals. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 3:27 p.m. but the fire caused traffic on High St. to be shut down for more than two hours and the NJ Transit rail line was temporarily shut down temporarily.
