Neglected Animals Left In North Jersey Woman's Car, Charges Filed: Cops

A 61-year-old woman faces animal neglect charges following an incident with her car.

WARREN COUNTY, NJ — A Warren County woman is facing animal neglect charges following an incident in Washington Township.

On Feb. 12, around 6:15 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of West Washington Avenue in response to a report from a woman who stated someone was attempting to impound her vehicle.

Upon their arrival and subsequent investigation, officers observed that the woman, 61, from Franklin, was in possession of several animals.

The police determined these animals were not being properly cared for. The animals were located inside the woman's vehicle during the investigation.

An Animal Control Officer was called to the scene and removed the animals. The animals were then transported to a local animal shelter. They will be evaluated at the shelter to assess their condition and provide any necessary care.

The woman was issued a summons for failure to provide a living animal with care. Following the issuance of the summons, she was released and assigned a court date.
