📰 News we're reading

• MVC Rule Change Allows Hackettstown Teens to Hold E-Bike and Learner's Permits Concurrently (tapinto.net) — Hackettstown teens can now legally hold both an e‑bike permit and a driver's learner's permit at the same time, after the New Jersey MVC fixed a software rule that had blocked it. The change, pushed by Assemblyman Michael Inganamort, means 16‑year‑olds can keep biking to school, jobs, and activities without slowing their progress toward a full driver's license.

• Hackettstown Opens New Three-Acre Crossing Park for Local Residents (tapinto.net) — Hackettstown residents now have a new three‑acre Crossing Park with a flat, paved loop trail, benches, and an open central lawn for relaxing or exercising close to home. The park is fully open to the public, with access from Third Street and East Stiger Street, while the homeowners association handles maintenance so taxpayers avoid added costs.
