Preserve Your Precious Family Bible Records
bible scan ancestry genealogy history documentation family tree records

Bible Digitization or scanning is a great way to preserve your Family's heirloom bibles.
Family bible scanning will be conducted at the Washington Borough History Expo on April 16th from 10-3pm in Washington NJ (Warren County) by the General William Maxwell Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
Participants should bring a family bible to be electronically scanned. To document the bible, the copyright page and handwritten family history pages (birth, death, marriage, baptism information) are scanned using a handheld scanner. The information will be emailed to the participant in an Adobe PDF file right from the event. If the participants bring their own stick drive, HD or SD Card to the event, a copy can also be transferred to the participants own medium.

If interested, your family records can be added to other bible records which will be donated to the Warren County Library, Hackettstown Historical Society, Warren County Historical Society and NSDAR National Library in Washington DC. A hard copy of the records will be accessible to the public at each of the locations listed. The DAR will gladly accept donations to defer the cost of our transcription and copy efforts of these records.
The NSDAR Library in Washington DC will make the information searchable to the public on the DAR website www.dar. org for free. This is a huge benefit to generations who will perform genealogical research in the future.
